OUR STORY
Meet our Founder, Sinesipho Magangana, who is well known as Si Jones. Si is a DJ, Creative and Media Personality who is obssesed with the music and entertainment industry. Si Jones has been active as a DJ and Radio Personallity since 2013 in the Eastern Cape.
Being active only in that part of South Africa wasn't enough for her, so in 2016 Si decided to pack up her life and move to Johannesburg to fetch her dream of becoming a music and media mogul.
Being young, female and fresh to Joburg proved to be a mission for her but that didn't put her down. Si rose to the occasion, making her mark as a young female DJ by gaining residencies at well known clubs such as Cantare, Icon and Zone 6 Venue. She has headlined shows across South Africa amongst well known musicians in SA and has been requested to feature on multiple national radio stations as a DJ and dance music commentator. Being an independent artist has been difficult for her so she knew she needed to start her own platforms that would represent young independent artists. She would later start a dance music movement called the Pod Party, which she headlines and features other young musicians.
Fast forward to 2020 when COVID hit. Si Jones wanted to keep people entertained and up to date with the latest music content during the pandemic, so with the assistance of Mudiwa Gavaza (who owns LOtv Productions) the Si Sessions were born. As time went on it was clear that this platform would become something more.
Today, Si Sessions is a platform that exists to engage with the REAL movers and shakers of African dance music and to tell their stories. We also exist to be a mouthpiece for young musicians and a learning platform to equipt them with the know how's of the business of music.
